Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading Heavy Equipment Rental Company in search of a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to join their team in Santa Clara CA.
As a Mechanic you would be responsible for maintaining the equipment we rent. We seek highly motivated mechanics with experience in construction and industrial equipment. Knowledge of hydraulics electronics gas and diesel machinery is preferred.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous mechanic service experience in the equipment rental / construction industry and / or related field preferred
- Must hold a valid California Drivers License
- Must have a driving record in Good Standing. To be in Good Standing a Driver must present a current DMV printout report with none of the violations below
Any major violations (DWI homicide reckless driving drugs leaving the scene) within last three years
Two or more other moving violations and one at fault accident in last three yearsThree or more other moving violations in last three yearsTwo or more at fault accidents in last three years with no moving violationsDrivers will not be qualified for this position if they fall within any of the 4 categories noted above during the course of employmentPositive attitude with an emphasis on empathyExcellent verbal communicationProfessional & clean appearanceAble to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work well with minimal direct supervisionAble to read maps efficientlyDemonstrate understanding of rental softwareMust Have Own ToolsEssential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet customers and assist with customer inquiriesSafely travel to and from customer locations in a timely safe and courteous mannerDemonstrate use of rental equipment to customersQuickly and safely evaluate / troubleshoot worksite equipment repairsMaintain and make Rental Ready a variety of construction equipment and tools to ensure their safe operation and customer readiness for rental or purchasePerform timely check out / check inCheck equipment for damage record hours used mileage and fuel levelsPerform pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other Company locations for purchase and / or repairFollow all Company Operational Procedures and QC StandardsEvaluate and complete equipment repairsComplete Parts OrderMaintain Parts inventoryMaintain Truck Parts inventoryResponsible for cleaning and maintaining shop and equipmentResponsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all timesInspect equipment and trucks for safety decals and complianceMaintain the service and appearance of assigned service truckPerform any other duties as assigned by the Store Manager Store Lead Mechanic or any Company ManagerEducation Experience and Required Skills Including Certificates Licenses and Registrations
