Job Summary and Qualifications
This role includes leadership in delivering professional nursing care, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. You will apply the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care, while implementing medically prescribed interventions.
Key Responsibilities :
Evaluate patients before surgery.Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures and the peri-operative process.Prepare patients for surgery through intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.Participate in surgical site verification processes per hospital protocol.Recognize and respond to patient emergencies effectively.Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.Collaborate as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, including providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists.Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to provide safe nursing care to patients.Continuously monitor and document changes in patient conditions, along with the care provided.Educate patients and caregivers about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up care.Qualifications :
Required Experience : Minimum one year of RN experience.Preferred Experience : One year of hospital nursing experience or OR / Critical Care experience.Required Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN or advanced degree program with completion within 5 years of hire date. Certain exemptions may apply.Preferred Education : Master’s degree in Nursing.Required License : Current RN licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC license may apply.Required Certification : BLS Healthcare Provider certification.Preferred Certification : National certification in specialty area.Mission Hospital is located in Asheville, North Carolina.
