Piper Shores is Maine's premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care for our residents with a person-centered approach to care.
The Wellness CNA works with Independent Living residents to provide assistance with activities of daily living while promoting independence and well-being.
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position with hours from 8 : 30am to 5 pm
Responsibilities :
- Develop and foster relationships with residents, understanding their individual care needs and preferences.
- Assist with ADLs while promoting independence, dignity and respect.
- Performs light housekeeping assistance such as tidying up living spaces and changing linens.
- Provides personal care visits.
- Accurately documents interactions with the Wellness Center, maintains proficiency in scheduling software with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Checks vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels, supports lab specimen collection and assists with donning and doffing.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, pendants, and pull cords, notifying the Community Wellness Nurse or security as necessary.

Qualifications and Work Environment
Maine C.N.A. certification required. Piper Shores will sponsor payment of a training program for candidates without a current certification. Experience with a senior population preferred.Warm and friendly demeanor with a positive approach to interacting with Seniors and co-workers.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. English fluency required.Ability to stand and move for extended period of time, ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently required.Piper Shores is a comfortable, clean, and resourced community.
