If selected for the position, you must maintain open availability during weekdays and weekends based on operational needs.
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate each call to determine the most effective response, following advanced Paramedic protocols.
- Utilize a range of Paramedic skills with medical equipment and procedures, such as defibrillators and intravenous fluids, to provide advanced care.
- Engage with patients and their families to reassure them about the care being provided.
- Assume leadership of the Paramedic team, managing the scene and unit as required.
- Drive the ambulance during 911 responses.
- Collaborate professionally with all emergency services personnel and fellow Paramedics.
Other Responsibilities :
Participate in community outreach programs to foster strong relationships and maintain a positive AMR image.Required Qualifications :
CA Driver's License.CA State Paramedic Card.CA Ambulance Driver's License, including the issued date.American Heart Association Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS / PEPP, BTLS / PHTLS.Medical Examiner's Certificate.Confirmation of registration for EMS Orientation Webinar or proof of completion.Additional Requirements :
ICS 100, ICS 200, NIMS 700 (preferred but not mandatory).Proof of vaccinations (includes TDaP, TB, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Influenza).Titers can substitute proof of vaccination; documentation of vaccines in progress is accepted.High school diploma or equivalent; advanced education is preferred.Experience in healthcare is advantageous.Physical ability to pass a Physical Agility Test, including lifting and carrying.Capacity to work overtime with little notice when necessary.Strong physical stamina and ability to perform tasks associated with emergency medical services.A driving record must comply with AMR's Safety & Driving policy.Join AMR, a proud member of Global Medical Response (GMR), dedicated to delivering compassionate and comprehensive care in emergencies and patient relocations. Salary Range : $39.04 - $57.95 (applies to 12-hour shifts with an average of 42 hours per week).
