SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR SOMEONE THAT IS EXPERIENCED OPERATING A DINGO, SKID STEER, WHEEL LOADER, EXCAVATOR.
We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator / Landscape Foreman to work on a variety of large scale commercial landscape projects. Duties involve include overseeing the construction of outdoor spaces, monitoring and training workers, and supervising the use of equipment while ensuring that staff observe safety guidelines and protocols. This position will use a variety of equipment and machinery to safely move earth, equipment, tools and materials to and from construction sites.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities :
- Read landscape plans and layout / install landscapes according to plan.
- Proficient in operating a variety of mechanical equipment including skid steers, excavators, and dingo utility loaders.
- Grade / Excavation and basic knowledge of grade / water flow.
- Organize jobs to ensure they are completed effectively and efficiently.
- Train new crew members.
- Direct, oversee and participate in work performed by your team. This is a very hands-on position and requires this person to perform any task they would ask their team to do. You will be expected to work alongside them.
- Understand and meet production and project schedule deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including work sites and equipment. Complete inventory checks and equipment inspections.
- Completes all necessary paperwork including time sheets, work orders, change orders, equipment logs, and audit checklists.
- Maintain equipment and notifies management of repairs when needed.
Minimum Job Requirements :
This position requires 2-year minimum experience in landscape material installation and equipment operation, including Skid Steer and Excavator.A valid driver’s license with a clean driving history. CDL a plus.Be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills.Professional in appearance and actions.Must have the ability to be proactive, plan ahead and problem solve to minimize disruption, errors, risks while keeping projects on task, within budget and on time.Strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to read and understand design drawings and follow construction plans.A successful individual will have a horticulture or landscape background in addition to understanding irrigation systems and drainage along with standard construction.Be able to lift 50lbs unassisted.Educational Requirements :
High School diploma or GED.Basic math skills.Competent reading and writing skills.Environmental Factors :
Work site conditions may include noise, dust, equipment exhaust, hazardous materials, outdoor weather conditions; may be required to wear protective clothing; position requires strenuous physical work including heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of heavy objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and / or up to 50 pounds frequently.
Salary $22 / hour - $26 / hour based on experience.
