Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) - $2,386 per week in Alpena, MI

Job Title : Occupational Therapist Profession : Occupational Therapist Specialty : Outpatient Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM Hours per Shift : 10 Experience : Minimum years of experience required License : Michigan License Required Certifications : BLS (AHA) Required Must-Have : - Outpatient experience required - Some acute care experience required - Pediatric experience required Description : This position delegates responsibility to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides. Activities in this position are patient-focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures. Evaluates the patient’s function by performing formal and informal testing measures to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, developmental, social, and cognitive functions. Develops a goal-specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient’s tolerance to carry out the treatment plan as prescribed. Submits a written treatment regime to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized by and coordinated with the physician. Updates the plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status. Co-signs verbal orders received by the Occupational Therapist Assistant as necessary. Devises a schedule of treatment that is frequency and duration specific to be discussed with the patient, family, or caregiver and coordinated with clinical support staff. Educates the patient, family, and / or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through forms of rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions. Provides supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per affiliate and regulatory standards. One weekend per month (Saturday) is required.
