Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Neuro unit night shift position with BLS and NIH certification, open to first-time travelers.

Job Details

  • Work in a short-term acute care hospital on the Medical Surgical Neuro unit,
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00,
  • Patient ratio is 1 : 4,
  • Float between units and multiple facilities within the state required,
  • Every other weekend shifts required,
  • On-call required; must be available for the full shift length if called in,
  • Epic EMR is used, experience required,

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in Oregon required,
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required,
  • Minimum 2 years Med / Surg Neuro experience required unless otherwise specified,
  • Must have a vehicle for assignment,
  • Submission must include SSN and DOB,
  • Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting,

    • Additional Information

  • Duties include delivering neuro-medical surgical nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team,
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
  • Teaching hospital environment with 536 staffed beds,
  • Scrub color is flexible; any color is permitted except for OR / Cath Lab where scrubs are provided,
  • Floating to other facilities such as Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, and Seaside may be required,
  • Former permanent staff must have a 3-month break before returning as a traveler and live more than 50 miles from the facility,
  • Minimal to no RTO is permitted; excess RTO may impact consideration,
  • Parking is provided at no cost,
