Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location : Des Moines, Iowa (50309) – Iowa nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : Labor & Delivery Unit (45 beds, 2 ORs) Assignment Duration : 13-week travel contract Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend / Holiday Rotation : Every 3rd weekend & holiday rotation if scheduled Employment Type : Travel RN contract On-Site Position Estimated Weekly Salary : $2070 - $2220 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 1.5 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting At least one completed travel nursing contract in the past 12 months (no first-time travelers) Active Iowa RN license required Certifications : BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP Ability to float across all campuses (Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Hospital) Submission of work history / resume, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, required certifications, and one supervisory reference from the past 2 years Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate care to Labor & Delivery patients, including high-risk OB, antepartum, c-sections, and vaginal deliveries Administer and monitor IV drips (magnesium, insulin, pitocin) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes Float to Mother / Baby and Postpartum units as needed Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR Follow hospital policies and procedures, including weekend and holiday rotation requirements Wear hospital-provided scrubs Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your travel nursing career with this Labor & Delivery RN job in Des Moines, Iowa!
