We are looking for a Senior Databricks Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) - Remote / Telecommute for our client in Austin, TX

Job Description :

The Senior Databricks Engineer will support platform administration, development, optimization, and operational troubleshooting on Google Cloud Platform. The role requires strong Databricks expertise, hands-on engineering capabilities, and the ability to ensure a stable, scalable, and well-governed data environment.

Requirement / Must Have :

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with Databricks.
  • Strong proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform Dataproc.

Experience :

8+ years in data engineering or related fields.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead installation and configuration of Databricks on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Implement governance, logging, and auditing mechanisms.
  • Develop scalable ETL / ELT pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to enhance workflows and models.
  • Optimize notebooks and jobs for performance and reliability.
  • Provide L2 / L3 support for Databricks issues.
  • Troubleshoot cluster failures, job errors, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Maintain documentation for platform setup, operations, and development standards.

    • Should Have :

  • Ability to work across administration, development, and operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Skills :

    PySpark. SQL. Delta Lake. Google Cloud Platform Dataproc. ETL / ELT pipeline development. Platform troubleshooting and optimization.

    Qualification and Education :

    Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (preferred).
