Registered Nurse House Supervisor - PRN

Summary :

As a Registered Nurse House Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the activities of nursing personnel on the patient care unit. Your primary role is to ensure that patient needs are effectively met while evaluating the nursing care and performance within the unit. You will play a key role in planning the workflow of assigned units, facilitating collaboration with other patient care units and departments. Additionally, you will be involved in the organization and implementation of training programs for unit staff, contributing significantly to guidance and educational efforts.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Beeville is a recognized Level IV Trauma Center by the Texas Department of Health, offering comprehensive emergency and intensive care services for critically ill or injured patients. With a commitment to patient care, we annually stabilize around 16,500 patients in the ER. Our wide range of services includes Emergency, Intensive Care, Medical Surgical Services, Obstetrics, Surgical Services, Critical Care, and Rehabilitation. The facility features three operating rooms, eight same-day surgery rooms, two endoscopy rooms, and an expanded recovery area. Our Women's Services offer nine birthing suites and a full-service nursery, alongside access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities :

Your responsibilities will include :

• Coordinating and directing efficient patient flow throughout the hospital's care delivery services, acting as a communication link between the admitting department and nursing units.
• Serving as a clinical expert and resource person in the delivery and supervision of both direct and indirect patient care processes.
• Providing competent leadership during hospital codes and crisis management situations.
• Acting as an intermediary for department and hospital executives in their absence, reporting concerns and events to the designated administrative leader on call.

Requirements :

Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including supervisory experience in an acute care hospital.

Current Texas State RN license, CPR (American Heart Association), ACLS required within 6 months of hire / transfer, NIHSS required within 90 days of hire / transfer, De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire / transfer. Additional certifications must be completed as specified for designated facilities, such as NRP within 90 days of hire / transfer.
