Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an RN Registered Nurse PCU Stepdown for a top Healthcare client.
This high-acuity position requires clinical expertise to deliver continuous, high-quality, and efficient care to patients requiring an intermediate level of monitoring and intervention (Step-Down / Progressive Care Unit). The RN ensures optimal patient safety and outcomes by utilizing strong critical thinking skills to manage complex, at-risk patients in a challenging environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct, specialized nursing care and continuous monitoring for an assigned patient population in the PCU / Step-Down environment.
- Conduct frequent, precise patient assessments and promptly interpret complex physiological data to identify and address changes in clinical status.
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, and manage advanced therapies necessary for high-acuity patient care.
- Utilize critical thinking, decisive judgment, and problem-solving skills to manage patient workload and clinical interventions effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians, intensivists, and other care team members to ensure a seamless and coordinated plan of care.
- Maintain service excellence and good interpersonal communication when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly, accurately, and timely in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
Education
Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.Experience
Previous experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.Certifications / Licenses
Current Florida State Registered Nurse (RN) license or appropriate compact licensure is required.If holding a compact license, an active FL RN license must be obtained within 60 days of hire.Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required .Skills
