DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will oversee nursing staff performing clinical and administrative duties. You will ensure adequate coverage is provided on all shifts, approve leave requests, write schedules, and authorize overtime for all clinical personnel. You will evaluate, plan, and conduct training, as well as arrange for continuing education that enhances nursing skills. As a working supervisor, you will assist clinical staff during peak work load periods and cover absences while performing general nursing related duties. You will also organize, direct, and evaluate the nursing services provided to inmates. This role requires effective communication and attentive observation skills to meet patient essential care needs and to recognize changes in inmate health conditions that may require treatment modification.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 1st shift (6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM), 2nd shift (2 : 00 PM to 10 : 30 PM), or 3rd shift (10 : 00 PM to 6 : 30 AM), with a 30-minute lunch. You will work alternating work schedules, including every other weekend.
• Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
• Training hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM.
• Overtime as needed
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $100,523.00 (before taxes).
