Position Summary
The Accounting Supervisor will lead and coordinate financial and accounting functions within the department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with organizational and governmental policies. This role requires a strong technical accounting background, leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive process improvements. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including DENSO headquarters in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and participate in day-to-day accounting operations including A / P, A / R, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Compile and analyze financial reports for management and regulatory purposes.
Communicate and coordinate financial data and project updates with DENSO Japan headquarters.
Manage aged balances and resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable and payable.
Review and audit financial transactions, journal entries, and month-end / year-end reports.
Implement and recommend improvements to financial processes and internal controls, including J-SOX compliance.
Provide leadership and oversight to a team of 1–3 accounting staff.
Support capital asset management and cash flow forecasting.
Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and analysis.
Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
Support transfer pricing studies and inventory audits, including across subsidiary locations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervise 1–3 team members.
Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution in alignment with company policies.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial and managerial accounting.
Leadership experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
Factory / inventory accounting experience is a plus.
Japanese language fluency is a strong plus.
Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of accounting standards, cost accounting, and internal controls.
Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.
