GENERAL SUMMARY :

Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses ultrasound technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of fetal abnormalities.

12. Maintains a file of interesting cases for conference / teaching purposes.

13. Reponsible for mentoring of students.

14. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

15. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

16. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Graduation of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program required. Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification with certification in abdomen and OB / GYN required within three (3) months of hire date. Must be able to follow American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) guidelines to ensure continued office certification. Two (2) years of clinical abdomen and OB / GYN ultrasound experience desired.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS :

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network.
