Advertised Job Summary

Oversees all facilities operations at the Baruch Marine Field Laboratory, serving as the primary contact for maintenance, construction, and emergencies. Supervises staff, manages budgets and contractors, ensures safety compliance, and coordinates projects with campus partners and external organizations to support BMFL’s research and educational mission.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years experience or high school diploma and 14 years experience in facilities management or in a diversified building or maintenance activity (e.g. general contracting).

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Knowledge of document processing, spreadsheets and databases, HTML, CSS, PHP and content management systems.
• Ability to tow and back a trailer.
• Knowledge of marine culture systems, including plumbing, pumps, filtration, and lighting.
