Role description : Arcadis is seeking a Market Business Development Lead reporting to the US Retail Practice Group Managers. This individual will possess proven leadership skills and be motivated to grow the Retail practice across the USA. Extensive knowledge and experience within the national retail architecture market are essential. Key responsibilities include leading growth initiatives, contributing to US strategy, and elevating the brand in the marketplace. The ideal candidate should have leadership skills and expertise in retail to lead a dynamic team and deliver compelling client presentations. Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills are crucial for fostering relationships and managing multiple pursuits. This role requires approximately 30% US travel. Role accountabilities : Develop and implement business development strategies in collaboration with global and US practice leaders to achieve growth targets. Communicate and execute outward-facing strategies across the USA. Set business development targets for the retail market in partnership with Practice Group Managers. Collaborate with teams to develop marketing and business development strategies to secure new work. Lead client capture plans and pre-marketing strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients. Develop business cases, fee strategies, and risk assessments for project pursuits. Lead pursuit teams in RFQ / RFP responses, proposal development, and interview preparations. Drive external marketing efforts, including events, media, social media, and awards. Enhance Arcadis’s retail practice visibility locally and nationally. Participate in professional organizations to demonstrate leadership and further company values. Implement global and national growth strategies. Mentor and develop current and future leaders, fostering key client relationships. Qualifications & Experience : Degree in Architecture or related field. 15+ years of architecture experience in healthcare and retail sectors. Knowledge of retail architectural market and growth practices. Professional registration preferred. Advanced credentials such as EDAC are a plus.
