Research Associate I - Microbiome Program

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I performs a variety of routine and increasingly complex research experiments.

As a successful candidate, you will :

Support microbiome research efforts by performing nucleic acid extractions and preparing sequencing libraries from a variety of specimen types.

Perform extraction of high-quality DNA and RNA from microbiome samples, and preparation of libraries for 16S rRNA gene sequencing, shotgun metagenomics, and metatranscriptomics.

Assist with receiving, aliquoting, cataloging, and storing biospecimens in accordance with established protocols.

Have great attention to detail, good laboratory practices, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include :

Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.

0-2 years of research / laboratory experience.
