The Visual Arts Program

The philosophy of the Visual and Performing Arts Department is to create a community of reflective, thoughtful, risk-taking artists who pursue their own creative goals and self-expression in an environment that nurtures empathy through creative action and emphasizes art as an avenue for social justice.

Responsibilities :

• Teach assigned 2 graphic design classes
• Collaborate with colleagues both within the department and across school programs to develop a vision for Visual Arts within the Visual and Performing Arts program at Notre Dame
• Align instruction with department outcomes and graduation outcomes
• Willingness to work with individual students to develop portfolios and independent study projects in the arts
• Willingness to integrate community arts resources into the Visual Arts program
• Be familiar with educational research and current literature in academic area
• Attend various school functions
