Job Description

SUMMARY

Performs simple, repetitive mechanical or electro-mechanical sub-assembly work. Direction provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures. Requires simple adjusting with liberal tolerances and no fitting. Work is typically performed at a bench and may include walking or standing. Performs bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies / sub-assemblies, using hand tools and electronic tooling. Performs assembly operations that are moderately complex, requiring adjusting, and aligning of components to ordinary tolerances.

• Performs assembly operations either by wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.

EDUCATION : Minimum high school diploma or general education degree GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Good hand / eye coordination and manual dexterity to work with small parts.

Work is typically performed at a variety of locations within the department (which includes walking or standing).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate (~75dba). Specific vision abilities required by this job include but are not limited to : close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. When required, must be able to lift a minimum of 5 lbs and up to 50 lbs.
