We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in estimating HVAC and Hydronic mechanical systems for commercial projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead estimation processes from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Solicitation - Maintain communication with GC’s to ensure we are receiving quality RFP’s.
- Bid Calendar – vet RFP’s based on inviting GC, project size, and project schedule.
- Pre-Bid – attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for estimates.
- Substitution Requests, pre-bid RFI’s, and Vendor Communication – make sure we’ve approached every angle to reduce liabilities, increase bid accuracy, while finding a cost saving edge over competition.
- Spec – analyze project specifications to ensure bid accuracy.
- Take-Off – Digitally prepare accurate and consistent cost estimates from mechanical plan & spec.
- Proposals - Work closely with subs, reps, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Follow-up – maximize GC relationships to ensure quick feedback and negotiate pricing
- Hand-Offs – prepare materials and set meetings for handoff to project managers.
Technical Expertise :
Review and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and codes to ensure compliance with industry standards.Prepare and maintain detailed records of estimates, including bid proposals and supporting documentation.Generate reports on estimate performance and project profitability.Continuous Improvement :
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC and mechanical estimating.Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices within the estimating team.Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC and mechanical estimating.Proven track record of successfully estimating large-scale commercial and industrial projects.Skills :
Strong analytical and mathematical skills.Proficiency in estimating software (FASTEST - Fastduct / Fastpipe / Fastwrap preffered).Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to primarily work independently and stay productive, but also present work to collaborate with peers and managers.Benefits
