The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant provides general and preventative care, conducts check-ups, treats illnesses, orders lab tests and prescribes medications for adults.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant for a high volume orthopedic group. The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant is responsible for handling patient appointments and performing routine examinations to ensure patient health. Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant will speak with patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses, and coordinates with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records.
- Carries out physician directives.
- Will work for all providers as a full-time Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant.
- Perform initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations.
- Orders and administers diagnostic tests.
- Communicates test results to patients and their families.
- Record patient medical histories.
- Apply casts, braces, and splints.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment.
- Documents patient care information using ModMed EMR system.
- Must have excellent documentation with all patient care interactions.
- Obtains and documents health history, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses condition.
- Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, monitors and documents treatment progress and patient responses.
- Brings patient care issues to physician's attention.
- Documents patient care information using Practice Management System and Phoenix EMR system.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding a PLUS.
- Collect test results and lab tests results and make them available for the physician to review.
- Triages and schedules patient exams as needed.
- Comfortable with Pediatric Orthopedics.
- Other duties as assigned.
