Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary : We are seeking a part-time Research Assistant to support ongoing public health research. This role involves working on various projects related to substance use, AI / AN tribal health, and professional well-being. This role is ideal for individuals with academic or professional backgrounds in public health, biology, medicine, nursing, or related fields.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Involvement :

Actively participate in research projects focusing on substance use, AI / AN tribal health, and professionals' well-being.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols, manuscripts, and grants.
  • Statistical Analysis :
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze research data.

  • Interpret and summarize statistical results in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Manuscript Preparation :
  • Assist in writing methodology and results sections for research manuscripts.

  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in presenting research findings.
  • Literature Review :
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support research projects.

  • Stay updated with current research and trends in public health, particularly in the areas of substance use and AI / AN tribal health.
  • Collaboration and Communication :
  • Work collaboratively with the research team.

  • Maintain open communication with the supervisor and team members.
  • Meeting Deadlines :
  • Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

  • Proactively communicate any challenges in meeting deadlines.
  • Confidentiality and Ethics :
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical conduct in research.

    Working Conditions :

  • Part-time position with flexible hours to accommodate academic or other commitments.
  • Opportunity for remote or on-campus work, depending on project requirements.
  • Minimum Education and / or Work Experience

    Education Required : Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education. Preferred : Bachelor's Degree Experience Required : None Preferred : 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

    Qualifications

  • Academic background (undergraduate or graduate level) in public health, biology, medicine, nursing, health sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Research Skills : Experience or strong interest in research related to substance use, AI / AN tribal health, and professional well-being.
  • Statistical Knowledge : Proficiency in applying statistical methods in research. Familiarity with statistical software is a plus.
  • Writing Skills : Ability to write clear and concise methodology and results sections for academic publications.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
