Job Requirements

Education Requirements : Valid nursing diploma or higher from an accredited institution
Certifications Requirements : AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
Experience Requirements : Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including 1 year of stepdown experience, and previous travel assignment
Other Requirements : Current active compact license, excellent assessment skills, resilience, ability to manage change, and strong critical thinking skills

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive stepdown nursing care to cardiac and neurologic patients, including post cath interventions, pacemakers, and critical assessments.

Interpret and analyze tele / 12-lead EKGs, initiating and titrating drips such as antiarrhythmics, Heparin, and Insulin with precision.

Perform neuro assessments including NIHSS evaluations and dysphagia screens while managing the patient's neurological recovery.

Monitor and manage patients with ventilators, feeding tubes, and other advanced medical equipment as needed.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, precept students and new hires, and ensure adherence to hospital policies and safety protocols.
