Key Job Details – Med / Surg RN Travel Assignment

Location : Mayfield, KY 42066 – Ideal for RNs seeking Kentucky nursing jobs in a close-knit community with access to parks, local shops, and a friendly atmosphere.

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) – 3rd & 4th Floor

Shift : 12-Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week : 36

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 30 / 2025 – End : 3 / 1 / 2026)

Patient Ratios : Up to 1 : 8 with Patient Care Assistant (PCA) support

Electronic Health Record : Meditech

Orientation : Weekly, starting Mondays

Dress Code : Any color scrubs (no hoodies or non-facility logos)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680 - $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Kentucky or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience

BLS certification (required prior to start)

CPI, HWC, or MAB certification (required prior to start)

Ability to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed

Compassionate, patient-focused, and team-oriented attitude

Must reside 60+ miles from Mayfield, KY to qualify as a travel nurse

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med / Surg unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Meditech EHR

Administer medications, treatments, and provide post-operative care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Support patients with common diagnoses such as COPD, post-op joint replacements, and diabetes

Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards

Provide compassionate support to patients and their families throughout the care process
