About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for the Department of Surgery. This pivotal leadership role demands a physician with a strong background in clinical care, education, and research. Applicants for the Chair position must hold a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, be board-certified in surgery, and have a current medical school appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. A minimum of 10 years of clinical practice experience, with a strong preference for those with at least 3 years of administrative experience in an academic medical center, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scholarly activities, grant funding, and a commitment to the values of the institution. Extensive knowledge of clinical operations, management, and a management philosophy that emphasizes accountability, integrity, and collaboration are essential. The role also requires excellent communication skills, the ability to mentor faculty, and a dedication to the continuous improvement of clinical and educational standards.
