The successful candidate must be able to multitask in a diversified work environment, should have a minimum of 5 years' experience of 'hands-on' injection mold maintenance and similar experience dealing in plastic polymers.
Qualifications required :
- Must have a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment
- Must have ability to use tool room equipment such as grinders and mills
- Must be capable of working on molds and making tight tolerances parts
- Must able to comprehend part and tool prints
- Injection mold dis-assemble / assembly and perform general mold maintenance
- Self-motivated, good organizational skill, team player
- Must be able to follow safety guidelines on the production floor
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair tooling problems on the production floor, identify and implement tooling improvements
- 5+ years' hands-on work experience in Injection Molding
- Die maker or machinist certificate
- Continuous Improvement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an ISO 9001 : 2008 certified company
Essential functions and responsibilities :
Perform problem-solving to develop corrective actions for customer issues or to initiate continuous improvementRepairs and re-builds injection molds by arranging for welding and rework, machining, polishing and finishing to required surface finishFits and assembles parts and tests completed molds for proper operationVerifies conformance of repaired injection molds or related tooling to specification by checking dimension, clearances and alignments using various test equipment, consistently working to close tolerancesAble to read and understand mold drawingsRecommend mold design changesKeep inventory of spare parts at an appropriate level and well organizedOperates a variety of machine tools, such as drill press, surface grinder to prescribed dimension and surface finish.
