Classification Summary

This class is the first level in the Information Technology series. Incumbents provide basic IT assistance to students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities may include assisting students and faculty with computer issues and providing basic instruction; performing basic hardware support; assisting faculty, students, and staff with accessing and using computer applications.

Minimum Education and / or Training and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Job Function

These are the job duties that are required of the position.

Classification Duties

1. Respond to daily calls assisting faculty on utilizing the learning management system. (A1)

2. Assist faculty with implementing instructional tools for educational purposes. (A1)

3. Assist students with using common learning management system and other software tools. (A1)

4. Answer common questions regarding academic calendar and online services. (A1)

5. Answer help desk calls from students and employees on the College's online portals and troubleshoot technology issues. (A1)

6. Assist in preparing student communications for online courses. (A1)

7. Perform IT helpdesk functions; assist with login issues. (A1)

8. Create work orders for hardware / network issues using electronic ticketing system. (A1)

9. Perform password resets for college department email accounts. (A1)

10.Perform other related duties of a comparable level / type as assigned.
