Job Summary
The Transload Operator's responsibilities include but are not limited to safely and efficiently managing the unloading of materials consisting of a variety of bulk liquid and dry products and is to safely unload and switch railcars in a timely manner.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Follow operating procedures and policies safely and effectivelyPerform general maintenance on equipment and assist with handyman duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep & painting)Interact with plant people, railroad crews, and visitorsOperate and maintain Class 1 Power Units (no CDL required), railcar / trans loading equipment (e.g., hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium-sized equipment, etc.)Requirements :
Interest in being cross-trained on all functions at the facilityCommitted to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operationPositive attitude and a good team memberMust be able to attend and pass all tests associated with job related courseworkFor safety reasons, you must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and / or verbal instructions in EnglishSome experience in a rail environment a plusMust pass a pre-employment physical, reference checks, drug screen, motor-vehicle report, and criminal background checkMust be able to obtain a TWIC cardHigh School Diploma or GED EquivalentComputer skills (light data entry)Basic Math SkillsValid Driver's LicenseWilling to receive general safety trainingPhysical Requirements and Work Environment :
Able to complete the physical aspects of the job including opening and closing rail cars dome lids, climb rail cars (heights), crawl under rail cars, walk long distances on uneven terrain, etc.Physically able to climb up and down railcars, ladders, and stairs safely; comfortable working at heights.Ability to work outside in all weather conditionsWilling to work with liquid non-hazardous bulk materialsCan carry at least fifty (50) pounds and have ability to walk 1-2 miles on average each shiftAdditional Information :
