Job Overview
TE Connectivity (TE) is seeking an R&D Product Development Engineer II for our advanced electrical testing facility in Harrisburg, PA. This mid-level position requires hands-on engineering expertise in electrical component testing and product development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical aptitude and project management capabilities
This role is responsible for conducting electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of various electrical components while supporting product development initiatives. The Engineer II will execute test programs, develop testing procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This position ensures TE products meet and exceed customer performance and reliability needs while maintaining the highest standards of business integrity
Key Responsibilities
Product Testing & Development
Demonstrate proficient knowledge in electrical component and assembly testing
Execute test specifications and methodologies for electrical components and assemblies
Perform complex tests using state-of-the-art equipment under guidance
Review and estimate electrical component test plans
Develop sample preparation techniques and testing procedures with documentation
Conduct data analysis and interpretation, identifying trends and potential failures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, quality assurance, and manufacturing
Support multiple projects simultaneously with proper prioritization
Manage timelines and deliverables for assigned testing initiatives
Maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work environment in both office and laboratory areas
Report project status to stakeholders and managemen
Technical Collaboration
Review assigned test programs and recommend testing strategies to ensure products meet customer performance and reliability needs
Write detailed test procedures and test reports to support the test lab and customers
Assist in design and preparation of test systems for specialized tests
Support identification of new or replacement test equipment for purchase
Work with test system engineers to determine strategies for present and future test requirements
Review active test programs and final test results to ensure performance requirements are met
Coordinate and follow up on testing performed by test technicians
What your background should look like
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
2-5 years of experience in electrical component testing or product development
Strong background in test methodologies and data analysis
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work independently and in team environments
Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Project, Excel, and Minitab
Familiarity with connector design, performance, and reliability requirements preferred
Ability to work with drawings, diagrams, and schematics
Willingness to shift priorities as business demands requir
Physical Demands :
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
Capable of sitting for extended periods while performing detailed analytical work
Occasional standing, bending, and maneuvering in laboratory environments
Ability to work in hands-on laboratory environmen
