Plans, schedules and coordinates the maintenance of all the accounting and statistical records of a major program or principal functionWorks alone with full responsibility for clerical accounting activities for a major program or office as neededReviews and researches methods and procedures and suggests improvements or changes in the fiscal system to accomplish special objectivesPlans, coordinates, monitors and participates in the preparation of complex accounting reports (i.e. payroll, garnishments, travel vouchers, and mileage reimbursements, etc.)Coordinates the establishment and maintenance of a variety of manual and computerized file and data base systemsCoordinates, monitors and audits the work of other account clerical personnelAnalyzes accounts to determine causes of resultsAnswers questions or inquiries from employees, vendors and othersAudits, validates and corrects records kept in the field or sent in by othersTraces, reviews and reconciles records and support documents and determines corrective measures for adjusting discrepancies and errorsPrepares summary, statistical and comparative reportsOperates a variety of office equipment such as a computer with standardized and customized business software, on-line terminal, printer, calculator, photocopier, and typewriterPromotes good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversationMaintains respect for confidential informationPerforms related work as requiredRequirement :

This is advanced, lead accounting and coordination work. An employee in this classification is responsible for maintenance of all accounting records for a function or organization, for the accurate, effective, and efficient operation of an established accounting system requiring procedural and allocation decisions, to audit and approve the accuracy of records kept in the field, to make improvements in the fiscal system or changes in the system to accomplish special objectives, and to prepare complex accounting reports. This employee works under the direction of an administrator with considerable opportunity for exercising independent judgment in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the job.
