Locum Tenens Opportunity : Hospitalist Medicine Physician Near Missouri City, TX

We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position near Missouri City, Texas. This opportunity is perfect for a board-certified or board-eligible physician looking to work in a new and dynamic program. The role involves working closely with a team of healthcare professionals in a hospital setting to deliver high-quality patient care.

Position Details

Location : Near Missouri City, Texas
Start Date : ASAP
Duration : Ongoing
Schedule :

7 days on, 7 days off rotation

Day shifts : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM (5 physicians, 2 APPs)

Swing shift : 10 : 00 AM - 10 : 00 PM (1 physician)

Night shifts : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM (1 physician, 1 APP Nocturnist)

No on-call duties for locum tenens providers

Responsibilities

Patient Care : Provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of a variety of medical conditions.

Team Collaboration : Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Documentation : Utilize the hospital's EMR system for patient documentation and communication with the healthcare team.

Orientation and Training : Participate in a one-day orientation, including shadow shifts to familiarize with the facilitys protocols and EMR system.

Candidate Requirements

Board Certification : Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM).

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitalist medicine or a similar setting.

Licensure : Must have an active medical license in Texas or be eligible to obtain one.

Credentialing : Emergency privileges available; case logs required for credentialing.

Hospital / Unit Information

Facility Details :

Number of beds : Information not provided

Average Census : 150-160 patients

Daily Admissions : 3-4 patients

Consults : Level 2 Trauma Center

Patient Population : Mixed rural / urban

Acuity : All types of cases, including trauma

Support Staff : Fully staffed with 2 APPs during the day and 1 APP at night

Specifics for Hospitalists :

Average daily rounding : 18-20 patients

ICU Rounding : Yes, ICU consults required

ICU Status : Open ICU

Procedures and vent management : Not required

Grand Rounds : Not applicable
