We are currently accepting applications for Interns for our Sacramento Office location. This opportunity will be starting Summer 2026 , working with our Accounting team.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Project Accounting Intern to join our Royal Electric team. This internship provides hands-on experience in project-based accounting within the construction industry. The intern will support project accountants and project managers with financial tracking, cost analysis, reporting, and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in accounting, finance, or construction management to gain practical experience in a dynamic, real-world environment.

Success in the position can be achieved through the following duties & responsibilities :

• Assist with processing and reviewing project invoices, pay applications, and change orders.
• Support the preparation of monthly project cost reports and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Track subcontractor compliance, including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and contracts.
• Help maintain accurate project financial records in the accounting system.
• Perform data entry, reconciliations, and document organization.
• Assist with job cost coding, purchase orders, and expense tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and accountants on project financial needs.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by the accounting team.

Requirements

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; exposure to accounting or project management software is a plus.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Interest in construction and project-based accounting.

Education & Experience

Current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.

Salary Range :

$22-$27
