Job Summary :
This position serves as a Residential Program Manager, i.e., supervises / manages Residential Program Specialists (RPS) 1 & 2s, up to 20 employees during any given work shift; assigns staff to meet work load demands; conducts ACPTC specific training; has authority to make decisions concerning all aspects of staffing activity and assigns staff; reviews and evaluates work performance of RPS staff and initiates disciplinary action as necessary; prepares and submits reports as required; may act as manager of the day on a rotating schedule for the facility; leads shift briefings and staff meetings, providing input; guides RPS decisions; makes final decisions or refers unsolved problems to higher management; attends supervisory and management level staff meetings and relays information to unit staff; participates in problem solving and decision making; confers with ACPTC leadership regarding operations; takes inventory of supplies needed, coordinates to have supplies ordered; conducts environment of care inspections and submits work orders for needed repairs, ensures that the staff and residents are provided a safe, therapeutic, clean and secure area; provides care, custody, and control of the residents on the assigned unit; provides for the care of residents through guidance on and assistance as needed with activities of daily living (ADLs) including assisting residents with personal hygiene; environmental hygiene including cleaning of rooms, changing of bedding and washing of linens as needed; assists infirm residents in walking / transferring; assists non-ambulatory and handicapped residents with hygiene needs (showering, changing) as needed, assists handicapped residents with feeding as directed; lift and reposition residents as needed; attends trainings, reads, and studies trainings to increase and expand skillset; utilizes Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) techniques to restrain violent residents as needed, reviews resident requests regarding telephone calls, visits, special personal items; documents information pertaining to behavioral changes, moods, conversations, reports of physical illness, and objective observations; documents legibly and accurately; writes incident reports in prescribed format; participates in implementation of crisis intervention and behavior management procedures when a resident is violent, suicidal, or has behavior difficulties; responds to wide variety of incidents; performs related work as required.

One year exp. as a RPS 2; OR 4 years of exp. with the care of psychiatric patients, residents or inmates in a behavioral management prog, forensic mental health setting or correctional mental health program; OR 90 semester hours toward a Bachelor’s degree in social behavioral and 2 year exp. in a related field; AND 1 year exp. in a supervisory or lead role.
Pre-Employment Requirements :
Driver's License Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR and NVCI certification.
Required to perform and work at / attend meetings at alternate locations and / or travel when necessary. A State Hospital employee must be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card pursuant to A.R.S. § 41- . Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card or apply for one within seven working days after beginning employment.
