Upstream Technician- Nightshift

Believer Meats is an innovative start-up revolutionizing the food industry through the development and commercialization of cultivated meat products. As we near completion of a new plant and prepare for commercialization, we are seeking multiple Upstream Technicians to join our team.

UPSTREAM TECHNICIAN

Believer is seeking to hire multiple candidates to join our Upstream Operations team including technicians interested in upstream cell culture. This is a great opportunity to build upon your experience in upstream processes and get exposure to a wide range of operations. As the factory scales up, you will specialize in one or more functions based on your skills, capabilities, and interests.

The Upstream Technicians will support a broad range of upstream processing activities, including operating and maintaining bioreactors and other upstream processing equipment to ensure the efficient and safe production of cultivated meat. These roles involve monitoring and controlling bioprocess parameters, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in bioprocessing, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Location : On-site in Wilson, North Carolina.

Schedule : The Technician will work standard business hours Monday-Friday until pre-production start-up in late 2025. The regular schedule will then be a 2-3-3 rotation including weekday and weekend work on the nightshift.

Benefits : This is a full-time, hourly (non-exempt), nightshift role eligible for generous benefits including PTO, Health Care, Retirement, and Parental and Medical Leaves (subject to company policies including eligibility and waiting periods).

Please note : This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must be located in the Raleigh / Wilson, North Carolina area or be willing to relocate at their own expense. Additionally, visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY

Day-to-day responsibilities will include a mix of the following duties as you work within the lab and manufacturing floor settings.

Inoculation

• Perform cell culture operations, including thawing, expansion, and passaging of cell lines in a sterile lab environment.
• Execute and optimize upstream processes, ensuring high-quality cell growth and viability.

Bioreactor Operation

Equipment Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Sanitation

Process Monitoring and Documentation

Quality Control and Compliance

Collaboration and Communication
