Position overview
This position is an analyst in OnSite Partners' Analytics Practice. This role's primary focus will be on creating discounted cash flow models to support the sales of Energy-as-a-Service offerings. An ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn and interested in a career in the energy field. The individual should possess the ability to focus on details and be able to articulate findings to internal stakeholders and clients.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Financial Modeling (Expected to be 60% of time spent)
Perform discounted cash flow modeling to explore investment viability of behind-the-meter energy asset investments. These opportunities will include (but not limited to) solar, natural gas engines, natural gas turbines, fuel cells, battery energy storage systems
Provide client facing savings models as proof of concept for sales and development opportunitiesAssist with financial analysis exploring one-off strategic business opportunitiesAssist with keeping financial forms, templates, and tool functionality consistent with current needs of the business to ensure accurate and efficient work product deliveryAnalytics (Expected to be 40% of time spent)Perform wholesale and retail market analysis and reports. This includes but is not limited to energy markets, capacity markets, retail tariffs, utility programs, transmission, and ancillary services
Collaborate with others to translate wholesale and retail challenges into opportunitiesWorking with the team, evaluate energy supply offers and make effective procurement recommendationsGenerate reports and market insight for internal and external consumption through personal analysis, industry articles and available data on energy markets and utility ratesEducation, Experience & Skill Requirements
0-2 years of discounted cash flow modelling requiredBachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics or Mathematics or similar required, advanced degree a plusAnalytical skills, organized and detail oriented, able to prioritize and plan, strong time management skillsStrong Excel, modelling, and presentation skillsStatistical and quantitative abilities a plusQuality communication skillsAbility and interest in continuous learning
