American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position, requiring a CA RN license and at least two years of recent MS / Tele experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unitNight shifts, 3x12-hour schedule (19 : 00–07 : 30)Patient population includes Med / Surg and telemetry cases, including ortho trauma, total joint replacements, CVA, and renal failureCare involves telemetry monitoring, pre / post hemodialysis management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response TeamsProcedures and skills required : IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, PCA, management of surgical drains and chest tubes, tracheostomy management, wound care / wound vacUse of oxygen delivery methods including nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), CPAP / BiPAP, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanksIsolation precautions must be practicedFloating may be required according to unit needsResponsible for comprehensive Med / Surg and telemetry nursing care including advanced cardiac and respiratory supportRequired to complete specialty-related modules prior to startMust be willing to work holidays as scheduledNo more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed and none during the first two weeks of the assignmentReturn staff considered on a case-by-case basisLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate\n \n Requirements\n
Active and valid CA RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele experienceCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredProficient in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia managementExperience in pre / post hemodialysis care and working with Rapid Response TeamsAbility to manage a variety of lines and drains including central lines, PICCs, surgical drains, and chest tubesReferences required from supervisors within the past 2 years\n Benefits\n
