Responsibilities

• Joining a group of 4 general surgeons to become the subject area expert for surgical diseases of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus.
• Inpatient and outpatient management of the spectrum of colon and rectal surgical conditions and on-call general surgery.
• Up to 50 clinic patients a week, more when on call.
• Outpatient call, inpatient call and surgery.
• Both in / out patient consults.
• Full time with teaching of medical students, and potentially rotating surgical residents.
• Procedures : Abdominal and anorectal surgery for a mixture of benign and malignant conditions. Colonoscopy and EGD procedures.
• Call - 6 days a month, sometimes more; moderate to high intensity; shared with partners; coverage rotated daily / weekly.
• Required Technical Skills : Ability to perform operative procedures of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus via open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Strong soft skills to promote an excellent patient experience and effective teamwork.

Pay Range

$194.47 - $218.30 / hour
