Position : Surgical Technician
Location : Palm Beach, FL.
Schedule : PRN - as needed Compensation : $33.00 per hour

Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Physician, the Surgical Technician prepares the endoscopy room for procedure, as well as decontaminates and cleans all items used.
Sets up case carts with supplies and equipmentRespond to request for informationMay participate in preparation of the patient for surgery by positioning and draping the patientSets up endoscopy room for procedures and works with GI physicians and staffHelps with transportation of patientsAudits and fills par level areas dailyUses cleaning products according to guidelines to ensure that items are properly cleaned and disinfected, and minimize chemical exposureApplies principles of safety in performance of all duties and responsibilitiesUses sterile technique to complete surgical proceduresUtilizes knowledge of recall procedures to retrieve and reprocess all outdated itemsInspects and uses special knowledge of proper cleaning and decontamination technique to process all soiled equipment, scopes, and other items usedUtilizes interpersonal skills to enhance communication with physicians, nursing units, other departments and fellow departmental employeesDemonstrates a cooperative effort to help and receive help from other staffTakes initiative in upgrading and maintaining skills necessary to provide quality care to patients and leadership to assigned staff.Acquires continuing education sufficient to maintain licensure and certification.Demonstrates competency in a variety of skills as demonstrated and evaluated on at least an annual basisInvolves the patient with care planning by meeting any needs they identify during assessment.Identifies the patient's normal patterns of living and strives to attain them.Involves the patient's family as much as possible.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum qualifications :
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.At least one (1) year of experience as a Surgical Technician.BLS Required.Additional Data
