About The Position

Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred

Description :

Join our Critical Care Float Pool for weekend night shifts.

Flexibility to meet unit needs as they arise.

Nurses will float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, and Cardiology / Diagnostics.

Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity.

Current credentials are required for patient care.

Experience with accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, chest tube insertion and removal, and managing BiPAP and CPAP.

Proficient in blood product administration and care of ventilated patients.

Competency in central line care and management of chronic and acute renal failure.

Familiarity with continuous IV paralytics and sedation, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures, CVA acute stroke management, and emergency medications.

Ability to perform interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias.

Experience with isolation precautions and IV insulin protocols.

Skilled in lumbar drains, managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure, and obtaining 12-lead EKG / ECG.

Capable of phlebotomy and procedural sedation administration and monitoring.

Ability to manage pulmonary artery line monitoring and sheath removal.

Must be adept in starting and maintaining IVs and suctioning techniques.

Knowledge of wound care, including management of surgical wounds with drains and wound vacs.

Must possess skills to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management.

Experience in interdisciplinary support scenarios and patient diagnoses relevant to ICU float responsibilities.
