Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care (IMC) Unit :
You will conduct patient assessments, craft care plans, implement, and evaluate nursing care.Direct and supervise care provided by non-licensed personnel on your team.Document patient assessments at admission and regularly update care plans based on patient responses.Provide education and resources to patients and families about treatments and care.Administer medications and treatments as per hospital regulations.Manage IV therapy and ensure all physician orders are executed as required.Communicate accurate patient information to the nurse leader and the oncoming shift for continuity of care.Requirements :
Minimum one year of nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).Preferred experience in acute care settings, particularly in adult ICU or IMC.Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Must possess a valid Texas RN license or Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).Certificates : ACLS required within 6 months of start, BLS within 30 days, NIH Stroke Scale within 60 months, and either Trauma Care After Resuscitation or Trauma Nursing Core Course within 1 year.St. David's South Austin Medical Center is a 368-bed acute care facility offering state-of-the-art services, including a comprehensive range of specialties.
