General Overview : Industrial design will conceptualize, design, and aid in product creation in the “Softgoods” categories (Bags, Batting gloves and Apparel).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Work on softgoods design (apparel, gloves, bags & other accessories) that aligns with our brand’s aesthetic and performance standards
- Expertly craft production-ready artwork and tech packs in Adobe Illustrator, ensuring accuracy down to stitch lines, seams, and material call-outs
- Apply deep understanding of human anatomy and sports biomechanics to create products that move naturally with the athlete
- Integrate usability and ergonomic best practices to enhance comfort, fit, and on-field performance
- Engage directly with baseball and softball players—pro, amateur, and youth—to observe, interview, and test prototypes in real-world settings
- Synthesize athlete feedback and quantitative test data into clear design revisions that drive product success
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and materials specialists to select optimal fabrics, trims, and construction methods
- Partner with manufacturing partners—domestic and overseas—to ensure “best in class” quality, cost, and timing
- Build, fit, and refine physical prototypes; coordinate athlete wear-tests and lab performance evaluations
- Analyze test results and iterate swiftly, balancing aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor softgoods launches, and emerging materials / technologies
- Translate trend insights into design concepts that keep our line fresh and competitively differentiated
- Prepare and deliver compelling design reviews and line presentations to leadership and cross-departmental teams
- Maintain organized art assets, version control, and document design rationale for future development
- Travel (2–4 weeks / year) to vendor facilities for development reviews, fit sessions, and production sign-offs
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers to troubleshoot issues and source innovation in materials and processes
- Gather and troubleshoot post-launch consumer feedback, warranty data, and field reports to inform next-generation designs
- Champion design efficiency by proposing novel processes or tools that streamline your workflow and elevate product quality
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Bachelor’s degree in design required.3-5 years of related experience preferredProficient with Adobe SuiteHigh level sketching capabilityTime management, organizational skills and attention to detailExperience with mass production and manufacturing preferredThorough understanding of trends and brand attributes translating to productsProven ability to meet project deliverables on time and on budget.Able to work on multiple projects at the same timeProven skills in building strong internal and external business relationships.Ability to work with cross functional groupsExcellent visual, written and verbal communication skills.
