Job description

Senior MySQL Database Administrator Specialist

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled MySQL Database Administrator Specialist for our Courts proposal. This position is located in San Antonio, TX.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide advanced technical expertise in the architecture, design, implementation, and support of various database management systems including MySQL, Informix, DB2, and SQL Server.
  • Perform data movement, troubleshoot complex issues, and write scripts to automate database tasks.
  • Manage intricate databases, ensuring reliable access methods, validation checks, security, and documentation.
  • Oversee installations, configurations, migrations, and restores, ensuring system security and performance are upheld.
  • Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to address technical challenges.
  • Prepare and present insightful presentations on database management system concepts.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Administration, or a related field with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth understanding of database management concepts and applications.
  • Ability to devise innovative and practical solutions to complex database issues.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal direction and completing tasks satisfactorily.
  • Proven skills in MySQL database analytics, configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup, and data recovery.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including configuration, performance tuning, backup, and report writing.
  • Clearance : Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

    USD $82,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 / Yr.
