Position Overview
The Contract Accounting Analyst involves preparing and presenting comprehensive contract accounting reports that encompass revenue recognition, cost analysis, and profitability metrics, while maintaining accurate contract ledgers in compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyze contract data for discrepancies and trends, develop financial models, and ensure the accuracy of financial information, all while supporting internal and external audit processes and monitoring compliance with relevant regulations.

Your Day To Day As A Contract Accounting Analyst
- Prepares and presents regular contract accounting reports, including revenue recognition, cost analysis, and profitability metrics.
- Maintains and reconciles contract ledgers and ensures accurate recording of contract-related transactions in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements.
- Develops, maintains, and validates financial models and spreadsheets that capture the performance of various contractual agreements.
- Analyzes contract data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements in contract administration and accounting.
- Conducts ad hoc financial analyses and responds to queries from management regarding contract financial performance.
- Works closely with cross-functional teamsincluding finance, contracts, operations, and complianceto identify inefficiencies in financial and contract management processes, proposing and assisting in implementing improvements, as necessary.
- Inputs, maintains, and ensures the accuracy of financial and contract data in accounting systems and databases.
- Assists in the preparation for internal and external audits by gathering documentation and explaining contract posting decisions and financial entries.
- Monitors compliance with both company policies and government regulations as they relate to contract accounting.
- Assists with other finance & accounting functions, as necessary.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.Minimum two (2) years of related experience.Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Must have the ability to report to the Mt. Vernon, IN site. This is a fully onsite position.Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.Preferred Qualifications
Advanced level of knowledge in data visualization tools, specifically Power BI.Understanding of SAP and / or OneStream ERP systems.Intermediate level of analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.Demonstrable superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to completing assigned responsibilities.Ability to interpret and apply company guidelines, SOX, GAAP, and government regulations.What We Offer
