Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (October 20, 2025 – January 17, 2026)

Shift : Nights, 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM (12-hour shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Employment Type : Locum Tenens, Travel RN

Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2,130–$2,190 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Current and active Illinois RN license in good standing

Minimum of 3 years of cardiac stepdown or acute care nursing experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care for cardiac stepdown cases, including post-op CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients

Conduct initial assessments and create individualized care plans for cardiac and vascular patients

Implement, evaluate, and modify nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate documentation and electronic health records for all patient care activities

Perform hourly rounding and provide proactive clinical support to patients and colleagues

Uphold hospital and unit competencies to ensure a safe and clean healthcare environment

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Engage in ongoing professional development and support peers through constructive feedback
