Requirements

Demonstrated specialty expertise, clinical competence, and teaching skills, with documented experience in education and administration.

ABMS-certified or possess equivalent qualifications approved by the Graduate Medical Education Committee.

In good standing on the medical staff with an unrestricted Michigan medical license.

Duties & Responsibilities

A typical day may include :

Provide guidance, instruction, and supervision to assigned residents to support the achievement of the educational objectives of the residency program.

Participate in evaluating residents educational and clinical performance using established forms and methods as directed by the Program Director.

Collaborate with the Program Director to assess and enhance the residency curriculum, contributing to continuous program improvement.

Engage in faculty development activities, including continuing medical education, to maintain and advance teaching skills.

Foster a learning environment that encourages inquiry, scholarship, and professional growth, including active participation in conferences, research projects, and formal teaching sessions.

Assist the Program Director in ensuring compliance with residency program policies and procedures, including adherence to resident work hour limitations and patient assignment protocols.

Advise the Program Director and Site Medical Director on program resource requirements, including equipment, educational materials, and other support needed to optimize resident training.
