CNA Pediatric SSU & PACU

Department Overview

Provides support to the nursing team for Doernbecher PeriAnesthesia Services. The CNA assists in the care of patients in the PeriAnesthesia areas by performing tasks within their scope of practice and maintaining a safe clean efficiently stocked environment.

Doernbecher PeriAnesthesia services provides inpatient and outpatient pre and post care to pediatric patients birth to 18 years of age and all conditions undergoing procedures. Services extend to adult patients for congenital conditions under the care of a pediatric provider.

DCH Perioperative Services is a department within Perioperative Services within the Nursing Division.

Function / Duties of Position

• Assist with the admitting and discharge
• Obtain accurate vital signs and weight
• Complete all unit specific CNA documentation in the patients medical record related to : admissions daily care vital signs weight intake and output discharge etc.
• Assist the patient with any and all basic hygiene lifting transport dietary support and other personal needs and medical necessities
• Support patient and family centered care
• Report potential compliance problems as outlined in the Code of Conduct
• Model ethical and appropriate behavior professional standards compliance and personal integrity
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
