Remodel Sprinkler Designer (RME-G)

REMODEL FIRE SPRINKLER DESIGNERJOB DESCRIPTIONJob Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Mentor and coach new team members as we assign new projects in New Construction.Remodel Design and layout sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages that are based on the AutoCAD platform.Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components. Perform hydraulic calculations.Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and / or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classification and architectural features.Perform field check of completed design to verify accuracy, if required.Work closely with the Estimation department, Design Manager, and Operations Manager to review the scope sheet and requirements of each project.Coordinate projects to meet delivery dates.Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades. Coordinate with team members for listing of required materials.Coordinate with team members for permitting and inspection requirements.Actively participate in predesign and review meetings.Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvementAdhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional mannerProvide outstanding customer service Other duties as assignedKnowledge : High School diploma or GED is requiredMust have experience with designing fire sprinkler systemsNICET Level I - IV certification is preferredRME-G a plusWork Experience : Minimum Experience : 5+ years Fire Protection Design experience or a Fire Sprinkler Design DegreeSkills and Competencies : Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required. HydraCAD is preferred.
