Summary

As an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, you will function as a crucial emergency response medical professional, providing immediate care to individuals experiencing accidents, violence, or sudden medical issues, including cardiac arrests and strokes. You will offer pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from the moment you arrive until the patient is safely transferred to a medical facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ambulance service at public events and provide ambulance standby services as needed.
• Document comprehensive assessments and treatments using patient care charting software.
• Provide medical and therapeutic services to patients in psychiatric, medical, and traumatic crises.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding swiftly to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate advanced medical equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators and electrocardiograms.
• Conduct thorough assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses and prioritize medical procedures effectively.
• Respond promptly to dispatcher instructions while safely operating emergency vehicles.
• Administer medications under physician direction using injections, IVs, or oral methods.
• Collaborate with medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control in the ambulance after treating patients with infectious diseases.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry weights of up to 80 lbs over short distances. Frequent standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and reaching overhead.
