Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a skilled CT / X-ray Technologist working PRN with variable hours including days and weekends. In this role, you will operate radiology equipment under physician supervision, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity using two forms of identification and confirm physician orders before procedures.
- Participate in mandatory meetings, in-services, and continuing education to maintain competency.
- Utilize resources efficiently and report any issues to support problem-solving efforts.
- Engage actively in process improvement initiatives both within the department and across the organization.
- Collaborate positively with team members, maintaining effective communication and professionalism.
- Explain exam requirements, risks, and benefits clearly to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain informed consent.
- Apply radiation protection techniques following the ALARA principle to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Adhere to privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and external agencies.
Education and Experience
Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Radiologic Technology, or at least one year of experience as an Imaging Associate.Licenses and Certifications
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography. New graduates must obtain registration within 90 days of hire.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.Preferred Qualifications
Licensure by the relevant state Board of Healing Arts is preferred but not required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of human anatomy and radiological positioning protocols.Commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.Ability to verify physician orders and safely administer imaging contrast agents.Completion of continuing education biannually to maintain licensure and registration.Physical Requirements
