Job Description

Shift : 07 : 00 AM - 07 : 00 PM

Description :

Prosection of biopsies from all tissue sites

Performance of autopsies as needed

Prosection of specimens requiring simple and complex dissection, selection of sections for analyses to fulfill all CAP requirements for the specific tissue evaluations

Provide appropriate dictation to fulfill all CAP requirements for the specific tissue evaluations.

When necessary produce labeled cassettes and slides

Be capable of preparing frozen section slides including prosection, cryostat sectioning and routine staining

Be capable of providing gross photographic pictures

Pursue required CME's for the incumbent's certification

Maintain a clean orderly gross station

Requirements : NYSDOH License

American Society of Clinical Pathologists License (ASCP) - PA License

Graduation from an accredited Pathologist Assistant Program, with a minimum of a Bachelors in Science required

Preferred autopsy experience
